The Blues have had some issues recently after being knocked out of FA Cup against a comparatively weaker side in the competition Bradford City side. Apart from the first team players, the bench does not portray any real strength to hold on to the five point lead which the Stamford Bridge side has over Manchester City at the top the Premier League table. In order to strengthen the squad depth further , Chelsea have been in the hunt for new and improved replacements. One such man that has been under the radar would be Brazilian superstar Douglas Costa, who is currently with Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk. Manager Jose Mourinho has been scouting the 24 year old youngster as he wishes to add a new flare to his world class squad.
The 24-year-old playmaker, who has been quite impressive this season has once again issued a come-and-get-me plea to Chelsea by revealing his desire to play under their Portugues boss Mourinho. In an interview, he was reported as saying to Globo Esporte,
“Playing for Chelsea is a dream for any player. He [Mourinho] is a very clever coach and he’s won everywhere he’s been. If there is one thing that would make me happy playing for Chelsea, this [working under Mourinho] is it.”
Chelsea as we know from the past, will battle quite hard for one of their main targets of the season and will be hoping to pull off a quick deal. What happens next will only be seen once the two clubs begins talks and consider the possibilities of a deal in the upcoming days.
