According to the reports in metro.co.uk, Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has agreed to join Arsenal at the end of the season. It is also rumoured that the fee for the Frenchman is around £ 15 Million.
Southampton have already started to look for a replacement for the Frenchman with Arsenal likely to offer big cash to complete the transfer. The main reason behind Schneiderlin leaving the Saints is to play in the Champions League. Schneiderlain has been a revelation for his side this side this season along with Wanyama in the midfield. The injured duo has been the unsung heroes in Saints’ system, helping them to stay in the top 4 in the league table.
If Arsenal manages to sign Schneiderlin, he will be teaming up with the exciting Francis Coquelin in the centre of midfield and if the latest rumours are meant to be true, Asier Illaramendi could join them at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal also gave a one year contract extension to their skipper Mikel Arteta. Arsenal had a rather silent transfer window and made just one major signing. Arsene Wenger managed to sign Brazilian defender Paulista from Villarreal with striker Joel Campbell going the other way round as a part of swap deal.
