Big News For Arsenal: Midfield Playmaker Available For Crystal Palace Clash

The Evening Standard on Thursday suggested that England international Jack Wilshere may be set to make his Premier League comeback this weekend against Crystal Palace. Arsenal’s match at Selhurst Park is on Saturday afternoon, while next Wednesday the Gunners face Monaco in the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium. With seven out of their last eight games, including the one defeat being in the North London Derby against Tottenham, Arsene Wenger’s side is heading in the right direction and now there may be more good news to add to that.

England midfielder Jack Wilshere has been out of action since the 28th of November, when he suffered a serious ankle ligament injury, following a challenge from Manchester United defender Paddy McNair. Wilshere had recently returned to training and the Evening Standard now claims that the midfielder should be on the bench for the game against Palace. As reported by the local London paper:

Wilshere has trained again this week and is understood to have declared himself physically ready to feature at Selhurst Park.

Wenger is unlikely to start Wilshere given his lack of match fitness but a place on the substitutes’ bench is possible assuming there are no setbacks in the next 48 hours.

Alan Pardew’s side, at the moment are in 13th place in the Premier League table with a poor set of recent matches against Newcastle (1-1) and in a 2-1 home defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup.
