Lazio’s Dutch center-back Stefan De Vrij insists he has no clue about the Manchester United’s interest in signing him. The Dutch defender has been labelled at a price of £18m and a move to Old Trafford has been on the cards, in recent weeks. Manager Louis van Gaal wants to sign his Dutch compatriot who was part of the Netherlands national team last summer. He would be a great addition to the Red Devils side defensively as van Gaal looks to improve his back line.
United’s chief scout was spotted at Lazio’s games in recent weeks with De Vrij and Brazilian star Felipe Anderson both on his radar. De Vrij claimed he has no clue and told Fox Sports,
“I do not know anything about Manchester United’s interest in me, but I’m used to the media linking me with other teams.
“Meanwhile, I’m very happy at Lazio, everything’s going well and I’m just focusing on this.”
