Liverpool were quite poor and deserved that humiliating loss at the weekend, at the Emirates against Arsenal. The game ended in a 4-1 victory to the Gunners with skipper Jordan Henderson scoring the only goal for the Reds, from the penalty spot.
Now, the Reds were already trying to get Raheem Sterling to sign a new deal and if that wasn’t enough to worry their fans, the Daily Star further reported that Henderson could be off to league leaders Chelsea, as well.
The 24-year-old midfielder’s contract expires at the end of next season, has also turned down a new deal. The Merseyside club have been poor in recent times after recovering from a poor start to the campaign, with back to back losses to Manchester United and Arsenal. Henderson has declined a new contract worth £80,000 per week and the Star stated that more talks are being planned with the Blues monitoring the situation closely. A move could surely be on the cards if Brendan Rodger’s side fail to secure a Champions League spot for next season.
