Premier League side Liverpool are looking to make a move for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to reports from various media outlets. Brendan Rodger’s side have been linked with a list of mid-fielders with skipper Steven Gerrard set to depart for the MLS next season. Kondogbia is considered a midfield “general” or “enforcer” and has a total of 39 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, scoring twice.
He has really been impressive for Monaco this season, since making a big money move from La Liga outfit Sevilla in 2013. He even scored a crucial goal against The Gunners last month, as the French club dumped Arsenal out of the Champions League competition in their round of 16 tie. Though the French international is quite a handful, he clearly won’t be cheap as Monaco aren’t exactly in need of money at the moment. On the other hand, the Reds need to make some high quality additions to their squad if they wish to challenge for some major trophies, next season.
