Manchester United are considering a move for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, who could join the club at the end of the season. Currently the Red Devils have Monaco’s Radamel Falcao on loan, who is likely to return back to the Ligue 1 side soon, which would encourage Louis van Gaal to sign another striker for his squad. The Red Devils were also linked with Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi, but Higuain was also being considered, according to reports in Italian media.
United had sent their scouts on Wednesday to watch Rafa Benitez’s side lose 1-0 defeat to Lazio. The delegates were watching Higuain play according to the reports from the Di Marzio. Felipe Anderson and Lucas Biglia were also being monitored, though Higuain was the main target. The United boss would surely know that his side could face competition from Arsenal, who have been now linked once again with the 27-year-old Argentine striker in recent weeks.
