Thierry Henry completed his much awaited move to Arsenal on a two month loan deal from MLS side New York Red Bulls. The Arsenal legend’s return to the Emirates has clearly lifted the mood around the club and many fans will now eagerly await the FA Cup match against Leeds on Monday to witness the return of their hero.
Considered by many as the greatest player in the history of the club, Henry is a much welcomed addition to the squad who will be missing Gervinho and Chamakh due to international duty. With Van Persie proving the only reliable source of goals, Henry is expected to contribute a few goals to take some pressure of our captain.
But, is the 34 year old striker good enough to compete at this level? Stupid question, you might think. These doubts wouldn’t have been raised if not for his age and the relatively easier league he has been playing in. There are also fears that Henry’s legacy may be tarnished if he fails to perform during this spell though Wenger has allayed such fears. But class is permanent and the club legend still retains his intelligence and finishing skills that lightened up the Premier League for almost eight years.
So do you think Henry has still got it? Or do you feel that the striker willl not ease the pressure on Van Persie? Here is you chance to tell us.
