A while ago Nivea for Men started the Great Football Experiment, this saw a group of also ran Sunday League footballers (Ivory FC) receive top-quality coaching from Terry Venables and Ray Wilkins, no less, to see just how good they could be. They had proper coaching, nutrition and fitness experts come in, and were even taught unique goal celebrations from Iceland’s finest, Stjarnan FC.
It all resulted in a match against a team of England Allstars, including Ian Walker, Luther Blissett, Clive Allen, Rob Lee and Ray Parlour. And you know what? They went and won 2-1! Not half bad.
Now, as the season draws to a close, they’ve been given them one last challenge – freestyle football (or, as we call it, REALLY good keepy uppy). We enlisted the help of Andrew Henderson, the World Freestyle Football Champion to give them a lesson, and also set Andrew a challenge too – could he do freestyle football with, say, a cabbage? An orange? Some toilet roll?
