It is safe to say that sometimes referees get decisions wrong and that can effect the outcomes of football games.
As fans we hate it when that happens, as do the managers (especially Sir Alex Ferguson), and there is a steady of abuse coming from the stands when the referee displays incompetence. Every expletive under the sun is thrown at the general direction of the ref.
I, like many others, have sometimes considered even jumping onto the pitch and showing the referee exactly how I feel about his decision not to award my team a stonewall penalty.
It’s more than likely that some of the players want to express their feelings of injustice to the officials from time to time, but know that any silly actions can have massive consequences.
Certainly so for this football team from Saudi Arabia who feel so aggrieved that they decide to take matters into their own hands and chase the referee off of the pitch.
They even manage to land a couple of blows on the poor chap, too. You wonder how badly the referee got the decision wrong that it sparked this kind of reaction.
English referees can count themselves lucky that they don’t have to contend with this level of dissent.
