How about those Argentinians eh?
Maradona, Messi, Aguero, Lavezzi to name but a few and, if this clip is anything to go by, than the South American country shows no signs of slowing down that rich production line.
The goal itself is a thing of beauty; a high ball controlled assertively on the chest and then the finish is all class. The young Argetinian, who goes by the name Sebastian Driussi, will probably never score a better goal throughout his career despite being an Under 17 with a, hopefully, long and fruitful career ahead of him.
It has been the season for spectacular overhead kicks. AC Milan’s Philippe Mexes scored a similar goal in the Champions League whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored one of the best, and not to mention longest, overhead kicks seen in recent memory.
For an overhead kick to be executed perfectly, at it has been here, you need a little bit of luck and even more faith in your own ability. The Argentineans have high hopes for next year’s World Cup in Brazil and it could very well be Messi’s coming out party on the international stage but on this evidence it looks like they’ll be alright for many international tournaments to come.
