There have been numerous names thrown into the ring for a potential move to Manchester United in the new year, many of them central midfielders, and it appears the most recent is Atletico Madrid’s Koke, who is just that.
Atleti are having a blinding season this time round and currently sit just points behind leaders Barcelona, but three points ahead of capital rivals Real Madrid. Diego Simeone has his men firing on all cylinders right now and a big part of that is the form of Koke.
He has played in every single league this tis season and scored twice, but it is his range of passing that has seen his name rained on with compliments. He has made 29 key passes, eight of which have been assists, and completed 80% in general.
He also averages three defensive actions per game, while winning 24/30 of his tackles.
He is a player who has the utmost energy, intelligent movement and a determination to see his side in possession. His shooting is pretty impressive, too – Koke has had 13 shots so far this term and hit the target with nine of them.
I would suggest that the zest the Spaniard possesses would make him a nice player to stick beside Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick.
Despite still only being 20, he has seven caps for the Spanish national side.
