Often I see teams that are struggling and I think that they’re not far off being a good team, they just need a couple of players to complete the jigsaw. Norwich currently occupy 14th in the Premier League, just four points above the relegation zone, but it’s their defensive record and lack of firepower in front of goal which is becoming a real concern. They have the second worst defensive record in the league and only two teams have scored less goals than them. My list heavily features defenders and attackers but the midfield did receive some attention, which goes without saying.
1. Isaac Cuenca
I mentioned him in my previous article about 10 players from Europe who could be available for loan and that’s all Norwich really need right now. Rather than splashing the cash they can pick up a talented loanee that can give them a new dimension in attack because of his pedigree.
2. Jan Kirchhoff
Another player from my previous article and there’s a reason why I’m picking so many from articles similar to this one because these are all players that are likely to be available come January. Kirchhoff could add more steel to the Norwich and create quite a scary looking partnership with Leroy Fer who is proving to be an absolute monster.
3. Tiago Ilori
The new Liverpool centre-half hasn’t received much of a look in this season but he was bought by the Reds for the long-term so a loan move to a Premier League side will be perfect for him and Liverpool, because he gets game time while Liverpool see him grow as a player.
4. Luis Alberto
Another Liverpool player in the same position at Ilori, as Brendan Rodgers has a huge option of players in his squad. But as I say, these players are more for the future than anything but a loan move to a team like Norwich will do them the world of good.
5. Cheikhou Kouyate
The Anderlecht centre-back features a lot on my lists because I really do like him. I’ve blabbered on about him extensively in previous articles so if you want to gain more of an understanding of him then I advise you to read them.
6. Marc-Oliver Kempf
He may be a bit young to do much now in terms of helping Norwich on the pitch, but off the pitch he could work wonders as he will be seen as that kid who can replace in the team if you play badly but not likely to if you’re in form but if he does get picked ahead of you then he has the potential to keep his spot. It could also push players to work harder and play better.
7. Kevin de Bruyne
The Belgian youngster has been touted to go on loan since the start of the summer but Mourinho refused to let him go. However, it seems as though de Bruyne will be up for grabs in the loan market and as Norwich are a Premier League club, Chelsea would rather see him go on loan there to gain the experience he needs in the league.
8. Alfred Finnbogason
The Iceland international has been in superb form this season as he’s bagged himself 14 goals in 11 games. With stats like that, Norwich will be licking their lips at the prospect of having him in their side.
