Ahead of the new season, here are three players that I think Tottenham should show the exit ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
1) Kyle Naughton
Having failed to prove himself in the Premier League last season, I think the 25-year-old full-back needs to drop down a level to establish himself as a worthy investment for a club. He played 22 league games last season as Spurs tried to patch their weak defence but was turned inside out on many occasions.
He made just 14 key passes and failed to pick up an assist, which for a full-back is unacceptable – especially at the top level.
2) Aaron Lennon
The little winger has offered a lot to Spurs over the years but I think his time at a top six club in the Premier League may be coming to an end. He is easily pushed off the ball, struggles to cross the ball and has never really scored enough goals.
3) Roberto Soldado
After a miserable first season, it wouldn’t surprise me if he was offloaded in favour of young strikers or someone with Premier League experience. Whatever the reason for his failings last term he won’t be able to just plod along again next time round.
