My word is this for real? What difference does a night make! After being handed humiliation by the hands of League One side MK Dons in the CAPITAL ONE Cup, a 4-0 loss, reports from Italian tabloid Gazzetta Dello Sport have now confirmed that Arturo Vidal to Manchester United is a done deal. It is widely reported that the Chilean playmaker has agreed personal terms and will now make a move to Old Trafford, the news which comes as sheer delight for the 19 time Premier League Champions.
It is mentioned that Vidal left the Bianconeri’s training centre Vinovo yesterday by avoiding eye contact with the fans. So is this a clear indication that he is no longer interested in training with the Old Lady? Or that personal terms have already been reached and the player is set to sign a five year contract (Mentioned in the above snippet).
United have been after Vidal for almost the entire length of the summer transfer window and such a breakthrough to sign a player of this stature is simply unbelievable for a club who can’t offer Champions League football this season. However United’s brand image and with Louis van Gaal being in charge has perhaps made the deal possible.
English tabloid Independent had reported earlier that Van Gaal wants the 27 year Chilean to join United for a £34m deal. A quote from the source mentions that Universidad de Chile’s team doctor, Alejandro Orizola, described Vidal’s operation (just before the World Cup) as “a hasty procedure” and claimed that “it would always bring with it a regression in his final recovery”. However the player has now perhaps recuperated from the injury and is set to ply his trade in the Premier League.
