According to the latest reports, Arsenal made a sensational £40m bid to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus.
Reportedly, Borussia Dortmund rejected Arsenal’s first bid but the North London side is expected to come up with an improved offer.
Even though Marco Reus is regarded as one of the best players in the World, he may leave for a transfer fee of around £20m next season as there is a release clause in his contract, which can be activated end of this season. Few earlier reports suggested that Dortmund’s attempt to renew contract with Reus failed and this may force Dortmund to consider selling the German star now rather than losing him for just £20m next season.
Reus has all the required attributes like dribbling, finishing, and play making skills to be successful player at any top club in Europe. Marco Reus is a natural winger but he is also versatile enough to play as a central forward, a position which Arsenal are desperate to fill after Giroud’s injury.
If Wenger manage to seal this deal, it will be one of the best transfer windows ever for the North London side who have signed the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Calum Chambers, and Mathieu Debuchy already in this window.
In other Arsenal news, Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck is very close to secure a loan move to Emirates.
