If reports in English tabloid Express is set to be believed then, Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded an astonishing £500k-a-week to rejoin Manchester United next summer. Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the Ballon D’Or winner but Ronaldo is believed to have his heart set up on a return to Old Trafford.
The reports claims that Ronaldo isn’t happy at Real Madrid thanks to the Galacticos’ transfer policy which saw President Florentino Perez sell Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso is the last few days on the summer transfer window. This seems to have angered Ronaldo who is also not happy with Colombian star James Rodriguez’s arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu. A report claims that Ronaldo order Rodriguez to train with the other group during a training session and let him know exactly where he stands in the pecking order at Real Madrid.
However Ronaldo’s astonishing wage demands will be a huge stumbling block for the Premier League fans to witness the player return to the top flight of English Football. His wages would seemingly dwarf what top earners like Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao (both £300,000-a-week) at the Red Devils.
Moreover with Financial Fair Play restrictions, it would be surprising if any club pays that amount of astonishing wages to get the services of the Portuguese winger. The Telegraph however claims that United had last season built a bid for Ronaldo and had the money in place to prise him from Madrid but the deal fell through as legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement.
