Borussia Dortmund’s poor start to the Bundesliga season means it will be tough for the German side to hold on to their prized asset Marco Reus. The attacking German midfielder has attracted the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Bayern Munich. However reigning Premier league Champions Manchester City are ready to move first and according to Manchester based outlet Manchester Evening News, the Citizens are willing to offer a mega £200k-a-week deal to switch loyalties.
The 25 year old might move given his contract has a £20m release clause which is set to kick in the summer. Dortmund would be unable to stop Reus heading for the exit as Signal Iduna Park but would be helpless if an club comes calling. However, one thing is for sure the Jurgen Klopp led side wouldn’t want to sell Reus to Bayern. They have already lost key players like Mario Gotze and recently Robert Lewandowski to the Allianz Arena outfit.
Reus’ contract runs till 2017 but potential suitors are ready to move fast to sign one of the most hottest young prospects in World Football. Manchester City’s offer is believed to around €13m per season, an astonishing figure which is greater than even the highest earners at Bayern Munich.
Manchester United are also interested in Reus while Liverpool are keeping tabs but it is well known that both the clubs might not be able to offer the extraordinary wage packet like City. Moreover, Reus would only make a switch to a Champions league club and given United and Liverpool’s poo start in the Premier League, both the fierce rivals might miss out on the highest echelon of European Football next season.
