According to the latest reports, former Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra could be set for a surprise return to Old Trafford in January.
Evra Joined Juventus last Summer as United signed Luke Shaw from Southampton. Reportedly, Evra is struggling to settle in the Italian league and now is considering a return to his former club.
Manchester United do need another back-up full back. With their current injury crisis, Louis van Gaal was forced to use Ashley Young as left-back in last few games. So, signing Evra back will at-least add defensive depth to the squad and he will also bring much needed experience to the United defense.
These reports also claim that Juventus are already looking for a replacement for Evra. They are linked to bring back Paolo de Ceglie, who is currently serving a loan spell at Parma.
In other Manchester United news, United management are reportedly ready to offer a new contract extension to Michael Carrick. The English international is picking up good form again after coming back from injury. His current contract expires end of this season, so, United should try to extend his contract as soon as possible to avoid losing him for free in the next Summer window.
