There is no doubt that Manchester United are set to add defensive strengths in their squad in the upcoming January Transfer Window. Louis Van Gaal’s side have been lacking quality defenders in the first half of the season, thus the Dutch manager will make it sure that he will a quality defender or two in the transfer market.
The Red Devils have been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels while Nemanja Vidic has been touted with a return back to Old Trafford cutting short his spell at Inter Milan. Aston Villa’s Ron Vlaar who performed superbly under Van Gaal has also been linked with Red Devils but it is highly unlikely that the Midlands side will let go their prized asset in January.
According to reports in British Media Outlet METRO, the Manchester side are ready to offer Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos £105,000-a-week to switch loyalties. The Spanish centre back has had a breakdown of talks with the Galacticos and could move at the end of the season.
Other reports have however suggested that Ramos has been offered a new contract at Real Madrid but is currently considering his options. Louis Vna Gaal is playing his cards close to his chest and wants a quick answer from Ramos, the player who was also contacted by Arsenal.
The respected AS reporter Manuel Esteban Manolete revealed that the London side have made contact with the centre back’s agent. “Wenger has called Rene Ramos, the agent and brother of Sergio Ramos.” he explained to La Goleada. It remains to be seen whether Ramos would consider leaving Madrid in the new year.
