Wilfried Zaha was bought by Manchester United from Crystal Palace in January 2013 for a reported £10 million plus possible add-ons, before being loaned back to Palace for the remainder of the 2012/13 campaign. He had been very impressive for the South London club and this had made plenty of clubs interested in signing him.
According to the Mirror, Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira has all but completed his move to Arsenal. This comes days after the Gunners signed Chile international Alexis Sanchez. With Khedira being a younger option, could this spell the end of veteran Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal career?
Marco Reus appears to be a major target for Manchester United in this summer’s transfer window. The Germany international, currently plying his trade in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, has been attracting attention for the past few seasons after some magnificent displays.
Legends are born everywhere and they can be classified as legends in different ways. A player may be considered a legend for a crucial goal they score or for commiting to the club for a long time. Maybe it is because they’ve always put in 100%. For whatever reason, they go down amongst the fans as legends of the club and they will always be respected. If there is any chance that a legend could return to the club then the fans will always welcome them back.
The World Cup has given us plenty of sights to behold. There have been amazing locations, great stadiums and entertaining fans, but the action that we have witnessed has been far better. This has included team performances that define comradery, with Costa Rica a perfect example of that. There have been wonderful goals of all shapes and sizes, whether it was James Rodriguez with his brilliant volley or Mario Gotze winning the World Cup with such a decisive finish. There have been upsets, surprises, enthralling encounters and the odd demolition job.
There is global misery now that the World Cup has ended. A constant flow of football was great, but we now have to wait over a month for the Premier League to return. However, clubs know that the transfer market will go into overdrive and they will now have to move very fast in order to land the players that they want.
Whilst the World Cup was ongoing, there were rumours linking Bayern Munich’s Dutch winger Arjen Robben with a move to Old Trafford. He is undoubtedly one of the best wingers in world football. At the age of 30, though, would he be a worthwhile signing?
Chelsea signed 20-year-old Patrick Bamford from Nottingham Forest for £1.5 million in 2012 and he is, in my opinion, one of the Blues’ best young talents. He has not played for the first team but has played for the reserves, as well as having loan spells at MK Dons and Derby County.
