Manchester United Striker set to complete transfer

English Media Outlet DAILY EXPRESS have claimed that Real Madrid are hoping to sign on loan Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez on a cut price deal. The Mexican who despite having failed to impress at the Bernabeu; is wanted by the Galacticos. The Spanish giants however want to pay only £12m for the player but it is believed that United are demanding at least £17m.

Hernandez has only started the two games this season but has scored three goals. Chances will be limited for ‘Chicarito’ as Karim Benzema is the preferred striker in Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-2-3-1 setup. So Hernandez despite settling in a bit part role. However should the Los Galacticos get him on the cheap, it would be a potential steal. Thus they wont have to spend big on a striker next season.

A possible return to Manchester United for the 26 year old also remains slim. With Robin Van Persie, Radamel Falcao and Wayne Rooney in Louis Van Gaal’s plans, Hernandez can more or less be assured that his career is over at Old Trafford. Also Van Gaal’s system needs a different kind of a player who can manipulate spaces and run at defenders, rather than just be a kind of player Chicarito is, an out and out poacher.

Though there were earlier reports that Real would also try to sign Robin Van Persie, but they appear far fetched. Despite the Dutchman’s poor form, it isn’t likely that United will sell him soon. Thus Carlo Ancelotti has already decided to make the Hernandez’s stay permanent.
