£30m Dutch Superstar Likely To Complete Move To Manchester United In Summer

Kevin-Strootman

The hunt for signing young and talented mid-fielders for the future is still on, with managers looking at various targets to improve their squads. Filled with such ambitions of finding glory once again, Manchester United have now confirmed that a deal for one of their long term targets is all set to be completed soon.

The Dutch sensation Kevin Strootman is expected to finally join the Manchester club on a deal, expected to take place at the end of the season. United boss Louis van Gaal, wanted to bring his Netherlands compatriot to Old Trafford in the January transfer window and was hoping to finalize a £30m swoop, according to reports. However, a deal for Strootman seems highly unlikely before the close of the winter transfer window and may only be possible in the summer, if things work out between the two clubs.

The Dutchman is currently with Italian giants AS Roma and the president of the club James Pallotta is determined to keep Strootman at the Stadio Olimpico at least till the end of this season. However, the Dutch manager is quite determined in his efforts and is now  prepared to wait until the summer window to complete a swoop for Strootman, who has only recently returned after being out for eight months with a serious knee ligament injury.

Dutch journalist Hugo Borst had previously claimed that the Netherlands international is all set to make the move to United in January, which has not happened yet. The former PSV man was a World Cup absentee after being injured while playing for Roma back in March and this was a major set-back for Van Gaal’s men in orange who still managed a third place finish. What happens next in the hunt for this Dutch superstar remains to be seen as the competition intensifies in the days to come.
