As the dust settled in Donetsk after an insipid Chelsea performance, uncertainty over the true strength of Roberto Di Matteo’s team began to creep out.

It’s that biennial time of the football calendar for fans across the land to once again put their club allegiances aside, come together as one and rejoice in expecting as little as possible of England’s chances of glory at a major tournament.
