According to the Mirror, Arsenal are looking to take Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic on loan until the end of the season, though the Italians are said to only be interested in selling the 30-year-old. It is well thought that the Gunners need a new striker to freshen things up a bit and boost their chances for the title, but is he the man to do that?
With such a remarkable strike force and a high volume of players to choose from at the back, it seems such a shame that Manchester United’s midfield looks so poor this season. With Anderson making next to no impact, Marouane Fellaini not living up to his hype and Tom Cleverley, well, being Tom Cleverley, things need sprucing up a bit. Which is where this man could come in.
For a club who sit third in the Premier League, two points behind leaders Arsenal, Chelsea don’t have the most impressive forward line at present, do they? With Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o the only real options for Jose Mourinho right now, I would suggest that they are in need of another head up top, and seeing as we are in January here is who I would suggest.
The reason for Arsenal’s success this season has been founded on many things. The arrival of Mesut Ozil, the goals of Olivier Giroud and the blistering form of Wales international Aaron Ramsey are just three. And while most point towards the attacking fluidity that the Gunners have displayed this season, I would suggest that Per Mertesacker deserves the plaudits.

There is still a large chunk of the season to play, however, and if they are to get their hands on that elusive trophy then they will need a gallant effort from all involved, and that includes Jack Wilshere.
Manchester City are enjoying a successful season so far – they sit just a point behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, are in the knockout stages of the Champions League and are likely to reach the final of the League Cup. They are also into the fourth round of the FA Cup after thrashing Blackburn 5-0 last night. However the next six weeks will have to be played without one of their main attacking stars Samir Nasri, if Manuel Pellegrini’s comments about the France international’s injury are accurate.
Since Martinez took over from Moyes in the summer, Everton have gone from strength to strength and see themselves sitting in 5th place, 7 points off the leaders Arsenal.
I believe Everton have everything in place to finish in a top four position this season but when you look at the four teams above them: Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal, its hard to see the current top four dropping many points this season.
On the whole, Liverpool have had a very decent season indeed. The Reds currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League table just six points off top spot and have a host of young stars establishing themselves in the first team.
