Welcome to the Gunners’ town

Arsenal are long-odds on to beat Wolves at the Emirates on Tuesday, and I fancy Robin van Persie to fire them to a comfortable victory over Mick McCarthy’s men.

It’s been almost a month since I wrote my last blog and without doubt it’s been a month full of surprises. Well, my exams did throw up a few surprise questions but I shouldn’t be complaining.

Everyone remembers their first game. It’s like your first kiss; mine was Emma Challon from Bracknell. It happened on a bunk-bed somewhere in Slough and it was… magical. It’s like buying your first car;

Tis’ the season to be spending and with January just a few weeks away many a merry Gooner will be hoping Arsene Wenger puts his Christmas bonus to good use this year. But with names flying about here, there and everywhere exactly just who should Le Boss go out and grab?

Aaahh the 1980s… or is it really the forgotten decade (until ‘the magnificent’ Georgie Graham returned in ‘86)?

A young Arsenal side slumped to defeat at the hands of Olympiakos in their final group game in the UEFA Champions League, some sloppy defending and a goalkeeping mistake saw the gunners lose their unbeaten run in the competition.  

Lazy is a word that hasn’t been used to describe Nicklas Bendtner so far in this year’s Bendtner Watch – but after yesterday’s performance there simply isn’t another word for it. 

Wojciech Szczesny – 6.0 – Besides an early parried save, of which Jordi Gomez couldn’t take advantage early on, the Polish international had a very comfortable outing.
