How can Arsenal’s season be deemed successful?

In over the seven years I’ve been an Arsenal fan, there has never been such a grim situation surrounding Wenger and his boys. I thought there would never be a sadder moment than Thierry Henry’s departure to Barcelona, but I was clearly wrong. Arsenal have played their poorest football in over 15 years this season and there is a general sense of fear creeping into the minds of Arsenal fans about the current state of affairs at the club.

Flop or not: Julio Baptista

A question for Gooners all around the world – who was the last Arsenal player to score four in a match before Arshavin’s famous quartet against Liverpool? RVP, Adebayor, Bendtner or perhaps even Fabregas would be the obvious first choice guesses. But, the answer in fact is Julio Baptista.

Missed and forgotten; Jose Antonio Reyes

When Joes Antonio Reyes arrived at Arsenal, the talk amongst the media was that he would develop into a world-beater. In reality, however, he faded into arguably Arsenal’s priciest flop. Sporadic form and mood swings blighted an otherwise encouraging start to his life in London, and some can’t help but wonder what would have become of the Spaniard if that radio hoax had never happened (when he was tricked into saying he wanted to leave Arsenal for Real Madrid).

Could Francis Coquelin be the next Gilberto Silva?

Back in the summer of 2002, a rather un-Brazilian Brazilian arrived at Arsenal Football Club. His style of play was never flouted with any of those fancy flicks, tricks or samba skills we have come to associate with his countrymen; though, he will forever be remembered for the way in which he graced our shores with such a calmed elegance, confident solace and a grace which very few defensive midfielders have been able to emulate since. And, the rest as they say was history…

Arsene Wenger’s five greatest managerial rivals

Arsene Wenger completed 15 years as manager of Arsenal a fortnight ago. And, in those 15 years, he has had several interesting battles with various managers. While very few of those have been on personal fronts, he fought with fellow managers over trophies, tactics, refereeing and approach to football. So let us take a look at what I consider his greatest five rivals.

How can the Gunners get back on track?

Well, the season has been awful so far. The Gunners have only collected 7 points from 7 matches, scoring 10 goals, but notably, letting in 16. Worst of all, though, is that we are sitting down in the bottom third of the table in 15th position. The future does not look bright for the Gunners or for us fans who love this team and cheer for them week after week. Well, I am a Gunners fan, and I say no! the future does look bright for us.
