YOUTUBE – THE BEST ADVERT FOR FOOTBALL YET?

(NB – Please realise that the words underlined are links to videos!)

You’ve got to love YouTube. I have worked in a number of offices over the years and most of the time it was spent watching videos of kids getting a can of whoopsie opened up all over them via inflatable balls and scoffing at a fat bloke farting.

However, nothing made me happier than when I would stumble upon a video which transformed me. 9 times out of 10 it was football related, sliding around the cyber highway more times than Driving School’s Maureen. Unfortunately, it has been a while since I’ve seen a real head turner – I’ve seen Maldini’s son tackle Clarence Seedorf, Maradona showing off in training during his prime, showing off in a pair of miner strike denims and even showing off when he was managing Argentina. There is also the perfect example of supporting your club at youth level, the Salmon Celebrations and the ‘Light-Footed’ Referee.

Not all is lost though, because over the past 2 weeks I have seen some simply brilliant videos. Not only is Mario Balotelli a stroppy little tearaway from Italy, but it seems that even on £180,000 a week, money can’t buy you a personal dresser.

The one that really takes the last bun in the bakers though is this.

Zinedine Zidane proving that even if you missed him playing in Soccer Aid last year, he could most definitely do another year in the top flight…after all, the only player who could really tackle him was himself.

 Sorry Zizou, I couldn’t resist!
