City Beat Villa, Now Time For Real-Villa…I mean Villarreal

Ok City fans, dust off your Aston Villa celebrations and get ready for the first game in what could possibly define our whole season. Ok so the Manchester derby is coming too early for it to make or break a title challenge but certainly is still a big game. The biggest however takes place at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday as City look to put their Champions League campaign back on track.

Currently 13th in La Liga it is fair to say that Villarreal haven’t had the best of starts in the league. This Saturday saw them end goaless against Getafe, who themselves are struggling. The League game before that was another tie with Real Zaragoza and that came on the back of a Champions League defeat to Napoli.

Juan Garrido will certainly be looking to rectify their Champions League at City’s expense on Tuesday looking at Giuseppe Rossi to break their Champions League duck thus far. Mancini for his part, managed to rest a number of players at the weekend and hopefully that will pay off as City try to secure their first win of the Champions League and try to secure qualification through to the knockout stages.

Expect Mancini to go in all out attack mode and with Villarreal probably just keeping Rossi as the lone striker I expect City to be able to produce a large number of chances while keeping the ball in the Spanish sides area. Nasri and Silva will be important to City with Aguero, if fit, to play and possibly even Balotelli.

City Team: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Toure(Y), DeJong, Silva, Nasri, Aguero and Balotelli.
