It’s now 25 points from a possible 27.
Safe to say Tottenham are certainly in a rich vein of form at the moment.
Their remarkable run of eight wins from nine has lifted Spurs to third in the league, and with a game in hand on second-placed Manchester United.
It’s led to many saying Harry Redknapp’s men could feature in the title race over the months to come, and have the foundations in place to compete at the top for years to come.
Their hot-streak can be put down to two important things, a much sterner defence than last season and a potent attack.
Their front-six has been pivotal to both of those things.
Whilst the imperious Scott Parker provides the anchor to Spurs’ midfield ship, Luka Modric, Aaron Lennon, Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart have license to create, interchange and cause havoc for opposition rearguards.
Then up-front, Emmanuel Adebayor provides goal threat, skilful, strong and quick, the Togolese front-man can hold the ball up whilst is also capable of getting in behind.
So pretty scary stuff if you’re an opposing defender.
With players such as Jermain Defoe on the bench too, Redknapp is spoilt for choice.
So spoilt in-fact, that rumours today have stated one Tottenham front-man could be on his way out of White Hart Lane in January.
Roman Pavlyuchenko has been largely restricted to Europe League football this campaign, and has hardly set the world alight consistently during his time in North London.
Now, reports say the Russian could be set for a move to Everton when the transfer window re-opens, a side in desperate need of a regular goalscorer.
And perhaps Redknapp would seriously consider selling, should he turn Adebayor’s loan from Manchester City into a permanent deal and the rest of his forward-thinking stars continue to perform.
After all, with 23 goals already in the Premiership this season, they’re hardly struggling to find the net.
