I know Manchester City are rich, but fictional characters, really?
I mean, come on, the Hulk?
Well not quite the comic book hero, but the Porto striker instead.
And today Roberto Mancini’s Premier League leaders have been linked with a sensational £88m swoop for the Brazilian.
It does make sense that it would be the talented forward, because £88m for a big green man is probably pretty extortionate.
To be fair, that amount of money is obscene for any person, green or not, but when all they’ve got is good upper body strength and a very bad temper, it doesn’t seem anywhere near value for money.
The real life Hulk though is certainly a valued asset, and his club have slapped the huge price-tag on his head to warn away any potential buyers in the January transfer window.
That includes City, who have been linked with a move for the front-man to replace want-away attacker Carlos Tevez.
Hulk could well be interested in a switch to England, but Mancini will not be interested at that price, so if a deal is too be done, serious negotiations are bound to take place.
But if they do get their man, their strike-force would be even more formidable, with Sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko already at Mancini’s disposable.
Although opposition defences know how to deal with Hulk.
Just don’t make him angry…
