For over two seasons now, Real Madrid attacker and Brazilian legend Kaka has been continuoulsy linked with a move to England.
Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, United….virtually every big club in the English game has found their name featuring alongside the South American’s on the back page of a tabloid newspaper.
But if the number 10 (despite officially being number 8) settles on these shores, would he seamlessly fit into the Premier League as much as is hoped?
It has been over 18 months since he has come close to matching the form he showed at AC Milan, where he unremmitingly put in performances of the highest calibere week in, week out. This inevitably lead to him capturing the World Player of the Year and Ballon d’Or awards in 2007.
Since his move to Real however, he has been dogged by a persistant knee injury that has not only reduced the calibre of his form, but also his route to the Madrid first team.
When he has played, although naturally he still has that extra bit of intution that made him such a fantastic player in the first place, he has lost that yard of pace, an attribute that is all so important in England.
Whilst in La Liga he may get away with his restrictions due to the monopolistic rule Barcelona and Madrid have in Spain, he would not find life so easy in the continuous high intensitfied English game.
If he decides to make the move, he needs to consider whether it’s the right move for both his body and his career.
