Benega staying put or adding to transfer value?

Valencia have this week announced the contract renewal of star midfielder Ever Benega, but whether he will actually be extending his stay is anyones guess.

A club statement read that the player had signed up to the Spanish club until 2015, but the chances of him staying until then are as slim as Fernando Torres scoring a goal.

Benega has emerged over the past two seasons as one of the most consistent midfield performers in La Liga and the Argentina national team.

He is of the rare breed of middle man that can both create and destroy. Finally cutting out the off-field problems that ravaged his early seasons in Europe he has now settled into one of the most complete players in world football.

Counting sides such as Manchester United and Real Madrid among his suitors, don’t be fooled by the contract renewal, it will most likely just add value to the player once he makes his big money move out of Los Che.
