Transfer sagas exist in the lower reaches

Oxford United striker James Constable appears to be a man in demand, with Swindon Town fighting to gain his signature.

The forward has been the subject of a number of failed bids from Paolo Di Canio, which has consequently lead to something of a bit of a tussle between the two League Two sides for the player.

Whilst it may not have the allure and sheer fianancial input of a Tevez or a Torres saga, it seems to have reignited a rivalry between two slightly local rivals.

Swindon bid, Oxford reject, Swindon bid again, Oxford accept, player fails to agree personal terms….it sounds like a tale normally found between two sides surfing the heights of European football.

But whether or not he makes the horizontal move Westwards, this transfer tale has at least brought a bit of glamour to the fourth tier of English football.
