The self proclaimed ‘worlds greatest player’ Nicklas Bendtner has this week been brandished fat and ‘not what Juve needed at all’ by legend of the Old Lady Alessio Tacchinardi.
“I will not say that Bendtner is a bad player, but he does not help improve Juventus either. He is not the player that helps them make the step up in quality,” Tacchinardi stated to Sky Sport Italia.
This is not the way the Dane would have liked to start his new life in Turin however the big man has the international break in which to shed some pounds and prove his worth to the Torino faithful.
In better news for the Danish bacon enjoying striker, Arsene Wenger has sung his praises and stated that he still has a future with the Gunners.
“It is not for nothing that I loaned him to Juventus. He is a talented player. There he will grow and then return to my team,’ the Arsenal manager told the Italian paper, Tuttosport.
“I am convinced that at a team like Juventus, in a very difficult league, especially for strikers, he can make the final leap in quality.
“Don’t forget, he is a boy of 24 years. The right age to prove who he is. The talent is not missing, otherwise I would not have bought him from Copenhagen when he was just 16 years old.”
“We believe in him and that is why we only gave him to Juventus on loan,” said Wenger. “We have not sold him, only loaned him, and next year we will bring him home. I think he can resolve his problems with us and prove himself.”
This is the target mans 3rd loan spell after stints with Birmingham City and Sunderland.
This surely has to be the last chance saloon for Super Nick as he has failed to win over his critics thus far both at Arsenal and at Sunderland. He performed well for Birmingham during his spell there, however it must be noted that this was primarily spent in the Championship.
It was rumoured Bendtner would make is debut vs Udinese last weekend, however he failed to make the bench – this spot was reserved for Ex-United player Paul Pogba.
