Yes, two clubs are now more unrealistic than Football Manager

The moment the world’s best defender and, well, the world’s best player (his own views not mine, or anyone else’s for that matter) set foot onto Parisian soil, a momentus shift in world football went into full swing.

It seems money is no object in the French capital, with the captures of Thiago Silva and Mr. Modest himself, Zlatan, evidence of this. The same could be also be said about everyone’s not so favourite Sky Blue team from the North Of England, who seem to be prepared to splash out at the faintest sign of a problem-

Roberto Mancini- ‘Mr Chairman, we conceded 2 goals on saturday.’

Chairman- ‘No worries Bobby, here’s £20 million, go buy yourself a new left-back.’

Granted, it may not be that easy for Mancini, but you get the picture. Either way, both City and PSG are filthy rich, and it wouldn’t be stupid to think that they could potentailly be the two strongest clubs in world football in less than half a decade.

But 5 years from now, which of these rising superpowers will be considered the biggest? Is it really a case of who throw the most money at players wins? Answers on a postcard….
