League one football predictions

Last Saturday I attempted to predict the scores for League two’s weekend set of fixtures. For a correct result it is 1 point for the correct result it is 2 points. When I predicted the Conference scores I scored a poor 3 points.

For League two I managed to score 5 points. Hurray I am getting better… maybe; here are my thoughts for this weekends’s League one fixtures.

Brentford v Oldham (1-1)

Neither team have shown any consistent form and both have won in the last two matches. They sit relatively close to one another in the league.

Bury v MK Dons (1-3)

Bury are struggling big time in League one. They haven’t won a match all season and MK Dons are pushing for promotion yet again.

Coventry v Carlisle (2-1)

Although if you look at the form guide this prediction would be considered a little incorrect I believe at home Coventry may turn it around on Saturday and get their season back on track.

Crawley v Tranmere (1-3)

A closely fought game on the cards but with Tranmere’s excellent run in the league I feel they are capable of continuing this run on.

Crewe v Leyton Orient (2-2)

Both teams are unbeaten in their last three matches and are close in the table therefore this could be a stalemate.

Doncaster v Stevenage (1-2)

Stevenage haven’t lost yet this season and flying in League one I expect them to pick up another win this weekend.

Hartlepool v Shrewsbury (0-0)

Hartlepool haven’t really set the league alight and Shrewsbury haven’t won away yet this season. I believe this game could end in a goal less draw.

Notts County v Portsmouth (2-0)

Notts County are going well and have only lost one this season. With a small squad and poor form I can’t see Portsmouth getting out of this one.

Scunthorpe v Colchester (3-2)

This is a six pointer. Both are in the relegation zones so I believe there will be goals. With home advantage Scunthorpe may edge it.

Swindon v Bournemouth (1-0)

Both teams are going well in the league but with home advantage again Swindon should edge this one.

Walsall v Preston (2-2)

Both teams are roughly in the same places in the league and therefore this could result in a stalemate.

Yeovil v Sheffield United (1-2)

Sheffield United have drawn all three away games but as they are unbeaten I feel they can edge out Yeovil.
