European Scouting Update: Sweden (video)
Today I thought I would do a bit of snooping into some of the European leagues we don’t look at all that often, and try and find some of the star players that play there. This blog looks specifically at the Swedish Allsvenskan and one player who is currently top scorer with an impressive 22 goals in 25 games.
Abdul Majeed Waris is a Ghanaian striker playing for Swedish side Hacken who lie 3rd in the Allsvenskan 2 points behind Elfsborg and Malmo. Although not the most well known of players, his striking prowess cannot be denied and it has been recognised in the Ghanaian national set up. Although he was only called in as a replacement for a severely injured Ghanaian strike force, he still has a full international cap to his name.
At the age of 21 Waris is something of a wonder kid and with such skill at a young age, maybe he will begin to attract interest from some of the less bizarre corners of the European footballing scene.
