I want more diving! (video)
It may not be a popular argument but I would be devastated the day that diving was completely removed from the modern game. Sure it sours the beauty and it’s ridiculous watching grown men cheat. But therein lies its own beauty.
Don’t get me wrong, when players dive for penalties or free kicks and win them, that’s despicable and should never happen. But when the dive is so ridiculous it almost brings a smile to the referee it’s hilarious.
Take this example of Gamst Pedersen of Blackburn at the Emirates, its superb and brightened up my afternoon no end, enjoy.
