League one predictions

Last week I attempted to predict the League two scores for that weekend. I had a shocker last time I attempted to predict the League two scores so I was hoping to improve from last time.

My score for last week was 4 points which is only one better than last time, so I think I can safely say my ability to predict League two isn’t the best. However having said that I have managed to predict a correct result for the third week running having correctly said that Morecambe would win 1-0 against Southend.

This week I’ve moved up a division to predict the scores for League one. I managed only 4 points last time so hopefully I can improve dramatically!

Brentford v Hartlepool United (2-0)

Brentford are sitting mid table and have only lost one game at home this season where as Hartlepool are rock bottom and have only won one game all season.

Bury v Walsall (2-1)

Although Bury are second from bottom I feel they will win as they won their first match last week in the six pointer match against Hartlepool. Walsall haven’t won in five matches and sliding down the table.

Carlisle v Bournemouth (1-0)

Both teams have had mix fortunes in the league. Although Bournemouth are unbeaten in three games I feel Carlisle should win at home.

Crawley v Oldham (3-0)

Crawley have won their last three matches and are pretty consistent at home. On the other hand Oldham are hovering above the relegation zone.

Crewe v Yeovil (1-1)

Crewe and Yeovil are near each other in the table and both have inconsistent form therefore I could see this being a draw.

Leyton Orient v Coventry (2-2)

Both teams are near the bottom of the table, Coventry are in the first relegation spot and have lost their last two. Leyton Orient likewise have lost their last two so I can see this ending a stalemate.

Notts County v Doncaster (1-2)

Arguably the tie of the weekend as its fifth v sixth. Doncaster save their best for the big games and therefore I can see this being a dramatic match with a late winner for Doncaster.

Scunthorpe v MK Dons (2-3)

Both teams have had unfortunate results lately and therefore this game could pan out to be full of goals. Scunthorpe are winless in six matches so I can see the Dons edging this one.

Shrewsbury v Colchester (1-2)

Colchester have won their last three matches and therefore I could see them winning this one against Shrewsbury who are struggling down the bottom of the league.

Stevenage v Swindon (2-0)

Another good game in prospect here as Swindon are pushing in the play-offs and Stevenage have lost only one game all season so far. As they are unbeaten at home I can see Stevenage edging this one.

Tranmere v Preston (1-0)

League leaders have hit a rocky patch lately having lost their last two matches. But before that they were unbeaten and therefore I can see them beating Preston at home.

Sheffield United v Portsmouth (3-1)

Sheffield United are pushing for promotion and sit third as they remain unbeaten so far this season. Portsmouth’s away form makes me believe Sheffield United will win this one.
