Phil Babb was a pretty decent defender and made a decent career for himself. He played at Liverpool for six seasons making over a 100 appearances for the club. He also played at international level, too, representing the Republic of Ireland 35 times during his career.
He now does some punditry work for Sky Sports here and there but unfortunately for him what he will be most remembered for this excrutiating collision with a post. Going at speed and sliding his balls smashed into the post in what has to be one of the most painful accidents in the history of football. We all know what it feels like (except the ladies) but Babb was going very quickly and the pace at which his nuts met the post would surely have put the poor chap in more pain than any of us have experienced.
At least he was showing some determination and drive to try and clear the ball but Babbs was just unfortunate.
