Juventus interest in Hooper is no shock (Video)

When fans think of prolific strikers across Europe, the names Lionel Messi, Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie instantly spring to mind. Yet, it would be cruel to deny Gary Hooper the chance to appear on such a list.

The Englishman, currently plying his trade with SPL side Celtic, has continued to impress during his time at Celtic Park, with interest from the Premier League regularly high in the 24-year-old. However, moving away from the confines of these shores, it appears that Juventus have taken a shine to Hooper.

65 goals in 111 games isn’t a record to be frowned upon, regardless of the quality of the football north of the border. His impressive return has seen the Serie A champions linked with a move for the front-man as they continue their pursuit to land further glory in Italy and on the continent.

Understandably, Bhoys boss Neil Lennon is keen to tie him down to a new long-term deal to ward off interest from big name clubs, but if Juventus do make a move for the Celtic striker, it is more than likely that a possible move could be on the cards.

While it may be a shock to some, Hooper is still a prolific striker in his respective league, while injury to Nicklas Bendtner could well see the Bianconeri make a January move for the Celtic star, especially if a new deal isn’t signed.
