Could Sean O’Driscoll steady the ship at Wolves?

It came as a bit of a surprise when Sean O’Driscoll was relieved of his managerial duties at Nottingham Forest last week, and even more of a shock that the hierarchy’s choice of replacement was Alex McLeish, but it is now being reported that the former Doncaster Rovers gaffer could be put in charge of struggling Wolves.

When Stale Solbakken took charge of the freshly-relegated side fans had their doubts because of his lack of experience as a coach in the English leagues, but because of his success in Denmark with FC Copenhagen they decided to give him a chance.

However, Wolves now sit in an unimpressive 17th place amongst the teams in the second division and have been embarrassed by their recent run of results, 3 straight league losses, and naturally whispers are now lingering that the former Koln boss’ time is up and the Wolves board may be looking for a new man to steer them away from danger.

So, you’re looking for manager to use his knowledge and experiences of the Football League to sort this  mess out, to inject some confidence into the team and start re-building what once was a proud club? Well Sean O’Driscoll could fit the bill.

It is hard to say whether or not he would be able to pull the club towards the top half of the table as there are obviously problems behind the scene at the club, but something needs to change at The Molineux and that needs to happen fast.

Whether or not Wolves decide to switch-up the management team or stick with Solbakken for the time being, the decision needs to be done soon before they are dragged deeper into a relegation battle.
