Loic Won’t Be ‘Arry’s Remy-dy (Video)

One side that won’t be signing Loic Remy this January is Queens Park Rangers.

Olympique Marseille striker Remy is one of the most wanted in France, despite scoring just 2 goals in all competitions and none in 8 Ligue 1 games, and there is no shortage of Premier League names chasing his signature in the January transfer window. Newcastle United see Remy as the man to fill the void left by Demba Ba, Arsenal and West Ham United have been touted as potential suitors and QPR boss Harry Redknapp had hoped the Frenchman could lead his side’s survival battle.

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Redknapp was strongly linked with taking Remy to White Hart Lane before having been given the sack in the summer. Now at QPR, Redknapp is finding his side’s lowly league position a hurdle in bringing in top talent.

“I went over last week to watch him, not that I needed to, as I watched him seven times when I was at Spurs. I couldn’t even get a meeting with him,” Redknapp said.

“I was hoping for a meeting with him to encourage him to come and he wasn’t being disrespectful.

“People say he was being disrespectful not talking to us but he was in a position where last year at Spurs he was interested and I got on well with him, and I think he felt embarrassed coming to see me to say he wasn’t interested in coming to QPR.

“He just felt he was in a position he found difficult to handle.”

Maybe midfielder Joey Barton, on a season long loan at Marseille from QPR, has had a word with Remy about his parent club.
