Sven’s Got A New Job

Sven Goran Eriksson has worked with more clubs and international sides than I’ve had hot dinners! It takes one thing to manage a lot of sides but to be fair to Eriksson, he has been pretty successful with the sides he has taken charge of. The Swede manager has held some pretty prestigious posts across the globe, I shouldn’t name them all but I will.

Benfica (twice), Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Lazio, Manchester City and Leicester City are the club sides Sven has held managerial positions at as well as taking charge of England, Mexico and Ivory Coast.

Now, somebody else has given Eriksson a job, this time in an advisory role, just like at Notts County when that all went belly up and left the club in a spot of bother.

German side 1860 Munich have announced Sven Goran Eriksson will join the club to work alongside coach Alexander Schmidt.

“Yes, we have an agreement that Sven-Goran Eriksson will join our coaching staff,” said 1860 Munich chairman Otto Steiner.

“He is a coach of the world. We now have to try to use his wealth of experience for our benefit. Alexander Schmidt will remain our coach.”

1860 are one of the founding members of the German Bundesliga but are currently languishing in 6th place in the German second tier, Bundesliga 2.

Despite playing in the second tier 1860 ground share with city rivals Bayern.
