Giggs Praises Bale (Video)
The last Welshman to be tearing up the left wing in the Premier League was Ryan Giggs, now the Manchester United man occupies a more reserved role in the centre of the park but certainly has the knowledge to know fellow Welsh winger Gareth Bale has what it takes to “go far”.
Giggs’ United take on Bale’s Tottenham Hotspur today at White Hart Lane, while Bale is more likely to play a starring role in the match and across the season compared to veteran Giggs the United man knows how good Bale is, “Gareth is brilliant,” Giggs said.
“He has so much to his game and over the last season or so he has improved a lot.
“He is not just a left winger. He can play in various positions.
“I have seen him play up front for Wales. I have seen him play off the front and on the right.
“He is such an exciting player, but more than that, he has a good attitude as well.
Bale is an example of a truly world class talent from a small nation, Wales, but there is no stopping the Spurs flier from hitting the pinnacle of world football as Real Madrid continue to be linked with making a move for the Welshman.
“He can go far in the game. And whilst I hope he has an off-day this weekend, as a fellow Welshman I hope it is to the very top.”
