Ferguson ‘Being Picked On’

Sir Alex Ferguson has run home at the end of school to tell his mummy that the FA are picking on him!

Ferguson was forced to respond to The FA over his post-match criticism of an referee’s assistant’s performance in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane last weekend.

The Manchester United boss was convinced his side should have been awarded a penalty when it appeared Steven Caulker had tripped Wayne Rooney in the penalty box but the assistant on tht side gave nothing and left Fergie fuming.

In an interview with The Sun, Ferguson has implied The FA stick the boot in to his side when it comes to punishment to make a point, “I just think it is more about me than what I’ve said. Whether I think it is unfair or not doesn’t matter to them really at this point”.

“That is what I have put in my letter exactly. But you know the FA,” he added.

“You never know. It is one of these things. We are high profile.”

Ferguson has to wait until Tuesday for any response from The FA with his punishment likely to come as a fine and a touch-line ban if seen necessary.
