It was courtesy of three of Harry Redknapp’s January signings that saw his side defeat Sunderland 3-1 this afternoon at Loftus Road.
However, it was Sunderland that scored first on twenty minutes thanks to their main man Steven Fletcher who bagged his 11 league goal of the season.
Within ten minutes QPR were level after Loic Remy’s clean finish at the near post thanks to a deflected Bobby Zamora effort. Was this the stroke of luck that QPR had needed?
Half time came and the scores remained one a piece, it was a very even game with both sides playing attacking free-flowing football.
It took until twenty minutes from time until another goal was scored and it was QPR‘s Andros Townsend who scored an absolute blinder from the edge of Sunderland’s area – Contender for goal of the weekend.
This goal seemed to kick the life out of Sunderland and in the last minute of time, Jermaine Jenas scored another sensational long-range strike that left Mignolet with absolutely no chance, 3-1 the scores ended.
This result left QPR at the bottom of the table, however with these back-to-back wins it gives them some hope of survival. Next up for Harry Redknapp’s men is fellow Premier league strugglers Aston Villa, and this is a must win for both sides.
