This weekend see’s two relegation-threatened sides come head-to-head in what really is a ‘must win’ for both sides.
Both sides are looking to build on last week’s wins; QPR beating Sunderland 3-1 and Aston Villa defeating Reading 2-1; and a win for either side here would be priceless in their search for survival.
The late Saturday kick-off is between two sides playing for two different reasons. Home side Manchester United look to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League – Whilst managerless Reading are in search for any points they can get their hands on.
Reading have not beaten Manchester United since the 1920’s.
At Stoke City’s Britannia stadium, the Potters take on a resilient West Bromwich Albion side in what is arguably the most pointless game of the season. Both sides have all but assured safety and a mid-table finish, which in turn can create quite an atmosphere.
Should Stoke City get Glenn Whelen on the ball, I can see quite the 1-0 win.
The three above games show just how exciting this weekend’s Premier League fixtures are looking. With the Ryman League and the Jewson Wessex League both looking more exciting, I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend of football.
