Didier Drogba, what can I say, he is a very experienced striker no matter what team he is playing for, let us explore the change the Ivorian international has gone through.
In 2003-2004 he played for Marseille and was on the score-sheet 19 times and made 35 appearances, he eventually made the big move the English giants Chelsea hooking up with Jose Mourinho as his coach where he spent majority of his career for 8 years making 226 appearances and scoring 100 goals. Chelsea were a dominant force to reckon with in the years the Drogba was part of their squad, they brought in Fernando Torres as reinforcement with Drogba and had a striker partnership that blended very well.
In 2012-2013 the 35 year old was a free agent and moved to Shanghai Shenua where his Chelsea team-mate Nicolas Anelka also followed suit. He was on the score-sheet 8 times and made 11 appearances, these are excellent statistics in which he only was there for a short amount of time.
In the January transfer window Didier Drogba was looking to get out of his contract with the Chinese side and he created alot of media speculation as to where he will end up next. The two strong contenders were Juventus and AC Milan. Juventus were highly favoured for the Ivorian as they are in desperate need for a central striker after Alessandro Del Piero’s departure. It ended up that Turkish giants mad a very late bid for the central striker and he opted for Galatasaray over Juventus.
Just recently Drogba had featured in the second leg of champions league tie with Spanish giants Real Madrid in which his team fell short to qualify for the semi-finals but he made a mark by scoring a very sneaky goal in which he back passed the ball into the net. This made the Turkish supporters go crazy even when Wesley Snejder scored for them as well.
